What have we been up to.... (part 2) 2023 ATV Nationals trip home - the beauty of Western Australia

Australia is a large country, so we have to travel extreme Distances to go to National events. The beauty of that is, you get to see some of the most awesome places this country has to offer. Beautiful beaches, awesome sunsets and all sorts of adventures and experiences. Here we show you some of these awesome spots The drive up to Darwin was, get there as quick as possible, so travelling 4,300km took us about 3 days and a bit, with a first look at Lake Argyle just a few k's away from Kununurra. After seeing that very special place it was clear we where going to go stay there again on the way back.

Whilst 2 weeks sound like a long time, if you have to travel 4,600km there is not a lot of time left to spend much time in each place. SO we limited our stays to a few, to at least get a decent rest in between. With stops in Broom, a very short look at Karratha, and the tourist hot spots of Exmouth and Coral Bay, we chose a few sports that wouldn't disappoint. Other than Exmouth to Coral Bay, those trips are all over 1,000km where you rely on the Roadhouses along the way for any supplies and brakes. One of the best we have seen is the BIllabong Roadhouse, where you get the cheapest fuel along the way and excellent food. Suprisingly high quality in the middle of nowhere! Stay the night with free overnight parking. It doesn't get any better! After travelling just shy of 10,000km in 3 weeks, we where happy to arrive home in one piece! Lets do it again in 2025 driving to Queensland (2024 Nationals are in WA).
