We were off. As usual we start the long drive to where the motocross event is being held – but hey the long drive was only 1 and a half hours for once. We got there set up, ate dinner, all the usual. Rohan and Riona were in bed by eight for they had a race the next day. But since I didn’t ride in this state round I stayed up later, talking to a girl my age and playing around the playground.
As you will know if you have children riding motocross you have to get up early, get them ready and make sure all the bikes are good for racing. Well today was no different to any other race day. Hard work for the parents, Stress here and there. Are the bikes OK? Where are the kids, it’s their race? And so on. And of course the kids are having fun and tend to not notice how stressed their parents are, am I right?
Rohan and Riona were saying that it got more and more rough every race. Well dah so does every other track. Riona’s best race was her second, and Rohan’s was his last by far. We all had fun this weekend and it ended too soon – but I can bet that mum and dad were going “Rest time finally,” and were all to happy to come home kick their feet up and in dads case enjoy a nice and cool stubby.
